Step Away from ‘Thinking’ and shift into ‘Knowing’
This happened to me as late summer shifted into fall. I woke up realizing I had been playing the ‘I don’t know’ game for long enough. I understood that there really were no more answers to be found, no doubt to be nourished, and nothing holding me back but my own fences & boundaries. Suddenly I knew what needed to be done. Not another person’s opinion for my situation would be sought. Seeking validity outside myself was an old game that had been played out, as well as seeking my ‘passion’, or ‘purpose’ in life.
For the New Year, it’s time to develop Passion for Life, for every moment in every day! Passion isn’t just for one thing anymore. That gets stale, and shifts & changes with the tides of society. It’s an ‘out of myself’ act that can die or need rekindling often. Real passion, if you want to even call it that, is in breathing every breath, marveling at the miracle of even being here incarnate, and doing the best you can do to create your gift in the world, which is Your ‘Self’. Each of us is so unique. Honor the part of you that excels in just being you in all your glory. This generates a deep energy that attracts all you need as it touches your consciousness, your true self, like a magic wand.
The GATEWAY to this feeling, for me, is always through creating art. For athletes, it can be called ‘The Zone’, that place where you lose yourself, and flow in the beauty of all your body can accomplish….it’s a transcendent experience. For writers, readers, and movie goers, it’s losing yourself to the story, leaving the present behind and sinking deeply into the imagination of the Heart. All these places rejuvenate the body and are certainly a healthier place to be. It’s a full body/consciousness experience that switches off the slow, drudgery of thinking, and takes you to the place where dreams live, thrilling experiences abound, answers appear, and life expands at an exponential rate.
