It’s Almost Scary

I never know exactly how it will turn out!

Filming any demo that I will be adding to YouTube is really an exciting Unknown. I have an idea in my head of layout and color schemes, possibly some images around for inspiration, but I never draw anything out in advance. I’ve found that just creating something in the moment can never be accurately duplicated again! There maybe second cousins to the original art, but they don’t hold the fresh immediacy, the movement, the vibrancy of the first. So I’ve decided to just Trust in the process, and film that ‘first’ painting. I allow it to flow through me and become whatever it chooses to be.

Usually, the final piece is never what I ‘thought’ it would be. It is something ‘other than’ thinking that creates the art. It’s almost difficult to explain in mere words. It’s like a magic occurs. Maybe it’s opening the door to inspiration, to new possibilities, to that deep Creative Self aspect that really isn’t me but sometimes moves through me. The Muse, the spirit, the creative universe, whatever IT is, I love when it happens. It’s scary & feels like I’m breaking out of a cocoon….actually, it’s breaking through my comfort zone of ‘knowing’ what I’ve done before. Using new media, creating a new experience, AND filming it was a big deal for me. But it’s such an adventure, I have to keep doing it. So enjoy my latest discovery, painting the ‘Ocean Sunset’ with those lipstick like oil paint sticks.
