I’ve Been to a Place in the Dreamtime Where all the Stories Live.
I’ve found myself there several times. They’re all there, standing in their various dress, with their wolves, bears, and elephants, looking at me. All people, all ages, all times, seeking to Connect with one of us to tell their tale. A huge mammoth, an enormous Stag, all different cultures & outfits, waiting for one of us to tune in. Turn the dial. Listen to them!
In the past, I’ve sat and tried to connect. That didn’t work. I think the problematic word here is ‘tried’. We seem to try too hard, want something too much, seek to ‘make’ things happen, and that’s not how inspiration works, at all!
Wayne Dyer once said something about writing AFTER his jog on the beach, after his chanting Om, after his head is cleared by the beauty of Nature and much deep breathing. Then the pencil he holds practically writes itself. No big thinking/trying going on here. He knows he’s done when the pencil stops. Beautiful! That’s inspired writing. That’s Connecting to all of ‘Them’ in the easy Flow of Life. I get that feeling when doing art, and sometimes when writing these insights. It just all comes together. That’s what I seek everyday. A connection to something More.
The Key is to tune into their stories and breathe Life into them. Fill them with passion, feelings, tastes, sights, sounds. When you can hear them that way, all is inspired.
Thank you Pat, I found a connection and a resonance with your story. I have also found that when I TRY, things do not go smoothly, but when I can get to the place of faith and letting go, there is a balance attained which I think everyone is seeking. Magic happens when you let go of expectation and allow things to unfold in perfect order and alignment.
I am so looking forward to the Wabi Sabi 11 W/Shop, and exploring more of who I am.
Love and Light
Thank you for your beautiful insights, Pauley. We try to control so much, yet our biggest gift comes when we let go and trust. This is what I love about the Wabi Sabi approach to art and life. So many unexpected, surprisingly beautiful things happen in the art and apps when we allow and just play. I’m so glad you joined us on this journey.
