Raven Calls the Moon

Raven Calls the Moon is about seeking the mystery and finding a balance in life. Lately, there have been so many emotions flowing that can completely overwhelm a person. The World ‘out there’ is a mess of emotional energy that influences the atmosphere, charges encounters, and creates upheaval physically. Suddenly, good people need immediate surgery. Others are dealing with physical pain, while some are just overcome by the constant barrage of news. No news is good news.

First, I painted a healing turquoise background, when a friend said how about adding some flying ravens? Soon, the idea became a reality when 5 ravens appeared, calling and soaring in one area of the forest. I watched for awhile, when suddenly a large hawk that had been invisible, flew away from the gang. Ravens are so mystical!

Letting intuition take over, the turquoise became quite moody. Next, Heaven’s Cross appeared at the horizon, casting light in moving waters below. Deep dark tones contrasted with shimmering lights.

Raven calls the Moon only needed 4 ravens!

First I thought it would have 3 ravens, then possibly all 5. But only 4 appeared as I sketched into the canvas. I wondered about that and looked up the powerful number four. Four is the most stable basic number in numerology. It’s our life of 4 seasons, 4 elements, 4 directions, and 4 square as a solid foundation upon which anything is built. Even the pyramids sit on 4 sided bases. Let this set the foundation for our new pattern of Life.

So here we have 4 raven guardians, protectors of the realm, circling, as though creating the center mandala space of our sanctuary. They set the inner space as sacred and apart from the outer space. Just what we need as we step away from the outside world, and enter our inner quiet personal place of vision, listening, and the unknown. Here we can plan the world in which we choose to live. This is the dreaming place for the future.

Finally, the great golden Moon appears. She is magnificent these days, with Jupiter and Mars as her guides. This is the rare Moon of the Eclipse, who enters the shadow, as do each of us at some points of life. It cloaks Her, and veils her in copper, as the Sun, Earth, and Moon follow their paths. The Stars shine especially bright at this time. A huge satellite even flowed through like a star on a mission, at this perfect moment.

But, the cycle keeps moving, just as the Universe keeps evolving, shifting, and changing. Moon eventually re-emerges in all her glory, maintaining her dance with the stars.

So Raven Calls the Moon reminds us that light and dark continue to enter our lives in stages. But, as we follow the Great Grandmother Moon, we, too, will emerge in all our glory. Remember to soar like ravens as you go within for balance, stability, and inner peace. Create a sacred space within the Magic 4: crystals, flowers, candles, or even a special room. The Magic is always there, waiting to be found.
