A Fox Day is good luck!

FoxMoonTEXTBestFox is my Inner Spirit Animal.

Fox has been with me all my life. I really paid attention during the Basic Shaman Workshop with Michael Harner back in 1990. We partnered up with someone and did a journey to find each other’s power animal. My partner clearly saw fox, jumping in and out of fire, until she was sure that was my animal. We may see many animals on a journey, but you must see the right one at least 3 times. For her, I knew it was a horse, and it turned out that she owned one while growing up on a ranch.

I can SO relate to fox. It can be invisible when it chooses to be, yet bound out in the middle of the action when she’s ready. I’ve always felt I could disappear into the walls in large gatherings of people. Quiet, introverted, I surveyed the scene before moving forward to participate.

I’ve been seeking a direction for my painting, and on the night of April 22, Earth Day, I asked for a sign to show me the way. The next morning, there she was, beautiful red fox running right outside our living room window, with a terrified squirrel yelling from a tree. She bounded around, circled back, and let us get a really good look at her before disappearing back into the forest. Next painting had to be Fox. So here is Fox Moon, done in my new style of painting. She holds power in her stature, and wisdom in her eyes. I feel I’m onto something here, and it’s all good.
