Everyone loves a Mystery, and the biggest one is finding our Selves.
I never follow a formula for making the next piece of art. I come to the clean canvas with few preconceived ideas, hoping to touch deeply in the well of intuition for surprising results. The Sacred is often entered through an arched doorway leading to some inner sanctum, hidden treasury, or other world. This is the journey to the heart.
Using the wildly unpredictable oil paint sticks takes me away from my comfort zone, to the place of unknown results, onto a path of being in the moment, thinking in the now, and reacting with whole body connections. Let my consciousness do the work as I experiment with new ideas, seeing what works, flowing with what happens. I do love the luscious colors that demand my knowing how much to paint, when to blend, and what tool to use next, before the entire image disappears from being overworked! A delicate balance.
Each step requires patience in my self, acceptance of my work as being of value, and honoring my choices. As I learn any new thing, I’m really opening doors into how I work, where I’m heading, and the secret truths of me. My Myth is heading to the Holy Mountain, the Mother, through a gateway covered in ancient symbols, on a path of golden poppies. The entry between the worlds is filled with stars in the dark night sky as the New Moon Goddess awaits our return to the Other World of spirit, magic, and rebirth. This is the never-ending journey of our spirits, in the Great Wheel of Time, moving through Space in yet another wonderful cycle on Earth.

Thanks Pat, there is a lovely sense of calm in this piece
Thank you, Pauley. Sometimes the best pieces come without a lot of planning!
