Full Wind Moon

Full Wind Moon

Full Wind Moon, wind & sea power

Full Wind Moon brings the wild and unpredictable fresh breezes of Spring. This is the element of Air, energy, and change. It can be blustery, gusty, and powerful, blowing away the stagnation of winter. I wanted to capture the feeling of that wild wind in the sky of this painting, Full Wind Moon. The movement, the colors, the moving clouds, and full Moon were all part of the emotions of Spring for me.

Also, Wind Moon ushers in the coming promise of summer with sunny, warm days, and waves on the beach. It all calls to me. The beach nourishes my soul, while the sun and water let me live in a different way.

In addition, the wind plays a huge part in our rain, river, lakes, and ultimately Ocean of Life. Water cleanses away the dry land, and nourishes new growth, as the winds spread the seeds of evolving life. Winds carry on the cycles of life on Earth, forming new mountains, valleys, and coasts. It leaves behind souvenirs of its passing as waves bring in bits of colorful seashells, smooth stones, and remnants of life at sea.

The beach above is from one of my photos. The water really was turquoise and the waves powerful. Capturing the feeling of all this was my goal. The title Full Wind Moon came in some days after the painting. First it was about the coast, then the wind, but when I added the Moon, it all came together. Tribes have called this the Full Wind Moon, arriving after the storms of early spring. The winds of change are are powerful.

Full Wind Moon is ripe with memories, Air, dreams, rituals, and inspiration.

But the Winds of Spring also bring memories of windchimes, gatherings of friends & family, rabbits in baskets, coloring eggs, and lamby cakes or butter. It’s a time to clear the house of musty old winter stagnation, and allow the Spring cleaning of the home and mind. These are Holy Days of color, buds, and first flowers. Wind is the Breath of life for us, plants, trees, and all creatures.

When I was young, the winds scared me. They were so powerful, howling their song through the city. If I had to go out, I was pommeled with debris, squinting my face against the attack. Also, in my young mind, it bought huge thunder, lightening, and damage wherever it hit. Definitely something to be feared and avoided.

So with this painting I’m glad to make peace with this huge force of Nature. As the winds seem to increase, I know it’s another part of life, a cycle of Earth, that is truly necessary. The trees dance with it, the waves roll, and it brings clarity to us all. How would you interpret the Wind visually? What colors, shapes, and forms would it take? What do You feel about the wind? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

So clear the space, the energy, the thoughts and make new choices to improve life in this coming time. Release the old, don’t wasted another moment on yesterday, since this is a New Day, a Rebirth of You. Live your Dream in this 5 Star Day and make it count. Open to new directions, new creations, and the New Light of beauty, adventure, and fun.
