Every culture has a word for Ghost
I taught for for many years at a Port of Entry high school. Students came from all over the World. Every language has a word for Ghost! October has always been a time of the thinning of the veil between the worlds. Loved ones who had passed were remembered with rituals of family gatherings, picnics of favorite food, and remembering the happy, funny, good times they brought into our lives.
At the school, we’d create a Day of the Dead installation with images, sculptures, and writings honoring all we had lost. In our one week October project, we will do all that and more! These losses have changed us. We aren’t the people we used to be…different from even a month ago! Realizing that fact, coming to terms with all we have lost from jobs to lifestyles, we create a truly personal piece of art. Art helps us move through heartache, to focus on what lies ahead.
Join us for a self empowering project, that anyone can do if they can cut & paste! More information will come on the week-end. Art is good for the soul.
