She Appeared on the lawn, & napped all afternoon!
While running though the laundry room, something caught my eye. There in front of the house, on a sunny, mild, Jan. 8th, lay a beautiful red fox, all curled up, napping!! I couldn’t believe it! Here is one of the elusive creatures of the forest, rarely seen except possibly to run by the window while chasing something, lounging in the middle of the lawn. She did blend in with the fallen evergreen spines laying everywhere and the brownish color of the winter grass, but still, she was right out in the open.
I watched the ravens fly over, keeping an eye on her. They didn’t caw, didn’t bother her either, so I knew she wasn’t injured or had just come to our house for help. She was casually napping, while keeping an alert eye on all happening around her. Her head would occasionally glance up at the street on the top of the hill, or she’d look out to the right, being aware of any movement from other critters.
I was grabbing every camera device I had, trying to capture this wonderful event. I stepped out the front door at one point and she raised her head to look right at me. Since I kept my distance & wasn’t a threat, she just yawned as we made eye contact and went back to sleep. What an experience!
Fox, with her ability to be invisible, silent, and clever, is the Master Observer of life. Deeply aware of all happening around her, she bides her time and knows where to appear, where to blend in totally with her surroundings, and seems at One with nature. Being the observer to life, she becomes one who Knows, able to predict situations for her own survival & protection. Some great medicine to practice.

It’s your sweet spiritual energy and affinity with their spirits that draw them to you. What a gift for you both….
Thank you, Karen! What a wonderful thought. I certainly feel I’ve been drawn to this woodland magical place so full of spirit.
