Reading the Books, Watching Season 1: I’m hooked for years to come!
What hooks me? Is it the tremendous love story of all time, set in accurately historical timetables, with absolutely the best actors for each part, with rich stage settings filled with authentic detail in landscapes and rooms, or the beautifully shot candle filled ambiance of each scene? All of the above and very likely more.
The Stag at the beginning is definitely a grabber for me. He’s so powerful, swift, intelligent, and huge with a rack of antlers to guard and defend his territory. I’ve read that to the ancient Celts, deer belonged to the Otherworld, the land of fairies and magic, disappearing into the deep dark woods to be part of hidden secrets. The Celtic Goddess of Wild Things, Flidass is said to have her chariot drawn by deer. Merlin rode a white magical stag. The antlers symbolize the ancient Tree of Life, energy, and fertility. I really love this new painting, and plan on living with this handsome creature for the time being, but images of my Golden Stag are available in archival quality prints here: http://www.patgullettdesigns.com/power-animal-prints/new-work/20848103, and in many unique ways here: http://www.redbubble.com/people/patgullett/works/17540556-golden-stag?c=437597-power-animals. Let the great Golden Stag preside over your sacred space. Also, a smaller original painting of a similar image is below.
