Power of Tribe, Community, Gathering
Power of Tribe was made so clear to me at the Toronto conference last week. I don’t think we really appreciate or realize the shifts inside that stay with us after we come together. Plus, any group holding the same intentions brings an energy and momentum to each of our lives unlike anything else.
I remember a class I offered in my home studio, Living the Creative Life. Beth, who had 3 small boys and a career, said she wouldn’t miss it for the world. It was ‘her’ personal time. Also, a dedicated group working together with focus, helped her step away from the demands of the world. She made time to pay attention to her feelings and soul needs.
Yet, the Power of Tribe requires the right people to flourish. First of all, each must value the connection and value the experience. I used to think people wanted to learn art techniques and the process. Instead, the treasure lies in the sharing, intentions and input from others. Acknowledgement, heartfelt thoughts from another, is gold. Nothing compares to the love from a Tribe, community, or sisterhood. That is an opportunity not to be missed.
Secondly, that class changed lives. With the focus on our desired feelings, the art held a power, a visualization that created Magic. One young woman confidently created a new life for herself. She left her demanding career as a Physician, and manifested the resources to move to the country. Imagine a life filled with a farm, silly goose, and herds of sheep. She lives her bliss.
But Power of Tribe doesn’t happen in silence. We’ve all been isolated enough in this Techy World. Each has to take the step to share, contribute, and acknowledge another. In addition to flourishing in life, our art becomes authentic, heartfelt, and true.
All in all, I met, listened, and connected to hundreds of people during the 9-9 three day sessions. I asked questions and learned what would work for me and my goals. Moreover, I became part of a group of creatives who are changing their lives. It was inspiring, enlightening, and fun. So don’t hold back when you can join a creative group. Clearly you’ll open new doors of opportunities every time. Plus, Dragonfly Art Club is waiting for you to grow, share, and evolve your life and art. Join us today.
