October of Remembering is all About Love!
I had a big dream last night, of a reunion of my grammar school people. Big Dreams are filled with strongly memorable emotions, and this dream was all good!
It led me to gather my objects of memory of my brother as well as a wonderful wood carving a past student at J.S.Morton East High School, carved and gifted to me for our annual October Day of the Dead project. These were moving times that connected all the students, and me, to memories of loved ones, stories of their lives, and the happiness we had with them. This is the Power of Art!
This is what October of Remembering is for me. I loved my students and the gatherings with them. To me, the Art Class was a sacred space where they could create from their soul, leave the rest of the world outside the door, and enter the inner doors of potentials. My Question now is, can this amazing tool of the internet connect me to the wonderful community I had, and grow with new artistic creatives who also see the power of art in their lives?
