The Allure of Santa Fe with an ever changing landscape.

The Land makes you breathe deeper, pause longer, and feel intensely. It’s all Wabi Sabi and Zen as the mountains, clouds, sky, and sun shift and dance across the landscape in impermanent waves of beauty. It’s as if this moment of time will never be repeated, and yet enigmatically, that it’s always been here forever. You as the viewer of this magnificence become a part of the mystical, playing a role in a never-ending unfolding of life.

Maybe it’s because the adobes and villas blend so perfectly in with the high desert sand. Possibly it’s the feeling away from the big city noise and action that creates a magic all its own. It could be that being in touch with the big sky and mountains shifts our inner clock to the cycles of the Earth, sunrise, and sunset. Something is different here.

A place so saturated in art and creativity must create its own contagious energy. It all seems reduced to simplicity, to the basics of life. It’s like an inner call to the enchanted side of life where the colors are more intense, the skies bigger, the mountains everlasting, and everyone is an artist. It’s so easy to fall into its spell.

I remember the first time a woman came into my Chicago art fair booth, took one look, and asked if I’d been to Santa Fe. Amazed that I hadn’t, she proceeded to weave a beautiful story of ancient ruins, pueblos, rock art, and spirit. We’ve made many trips since, and find it still holds a magical allure, a draw, unlike any other. So if you want to travel to another world without needing a passport, Santa Fe is your destination. And you don’t need to learn another language. It’s easy to fit right in. Find a Friday Gallery walk, an Art Fair on the Plaza, or a Fiesta on the fringes with bands, dancing, parades, and fireworks to create memories of a lifetime.
