What brings you back to Your Self?
Summer Solstice Full Moon always brings a pause, a time of finding myself again. Sitting in a chair on a beach, sinking my toes into the sand, brings a deep full body Sigh, down to my cellular level. The scent of salty air, hot dogs roasting, motor boat gasoline, bring back a childhood lightness of being, freedom without a care in the world, and an inner peace in my heart. It’s a full sensory Time Travel memory brought into today.
Thoughts drift, with tastes of orange crush soda and chips, raspberries, the first wading into cool water, family picnics on a huge old bedspread/blanket, watermelon, the bells of the ice cream truck. Wearing my Mom’s ring, my grandmother’s amber necklace, recalls my source. It all brings me back to who I was, who I am, deep in my core. The inner self is always there, waiting for you to remember, to bring back the pieces of yourself and be whole again. This world makes us lose ourselves along the way. Gather your pieces in every sensory way that works for you.
With all these feelings flowing, I always make a Solstice painting. It’s my record of the journey, the souvenir of the dreamtime, filled with intuition, colors, and shapes I love. Colors of purple and blue, memories of beaches and islands, fill me now. Be the creative kid again, the free spirit who loved everything life had to offer. Let Art open the door to immerse, rediscover, and refresh your mind, body, and spirit. Onward!
