Winter Solstice Intentions- Restart Life
Winter Solstice Intentions are powerful to restart life. When everything seems to be falling apart, I become Bear and seek the solace, the peace, the stillness of the cave within, to find myself again. Furthermore, I know this path. I have ‘remodeled’ my life many times over the years. Yet, each time I enter the cave a different, hopefully wiser person than I was the last time. So I gather my pieces, set my focus, evaluate who I am today and what will make my heart sing? As a result, I can’t follow in anyone’s footsteps. Therefore, the power of Winter Solstice intentions happens when the desires come from the Soul.
The Ancestors have entered the cave of reflection at the longest night of the year, for thousands of years. Moreover, the cave was always seen as the womb of the Mother, the perfect place for rebirth and new life. So the tribe gathered around the bonfire at this pause in the Earth, to support each other when the world was harsh, challenging, and unreliable. In addition, they, as we do, seek the light of illumination, the protection of the Earth, and the rays of the Sun to allow us to drink deeply of possibilities yet to be born.
Winter Solstice Intentions begin with the question. So I start with stream of consciousness writing and sketching. Where am I going? What do I want more of in my life? Most of all, what feelings, things, or activities must I release to move on? Saying No opens the way to Yes! What new things make me happy today? Writing an intention is worthless if I’m on the wrong path. This is not what anyone thinks I should be doing, or even my common sense head of how to make a living. Life has changed. I must Trust in my inner voice. I continue to write, evaluate, and go deeper, beyond the surface thoughts, to find my true self. Furthermore, new ideas pop up throughout the day. So I keep a journal.
First of all, I know that keeping my body strong and healthy is major. Secondly, sharing, giving, receiving hugs, kisses, kindness, love, and connections is all important. Thirdly, I intend to create a solid income this year, doing what I love. Most of all, I ask for all this to happen in an artistic, creative way. Everything else happening around me is just periphery stuff.
Finally, writing in the cave of Winter Solstice intentions heals my wounds, ignites my fire, and inspires me to align with my inner guide. So, I go within, ask for direction, and then in a Shamanic way, I listen.
Sandra Ingerman offers a healing Shamanic Journey for this Solstice this week-end to help make our way through this emotional time of the year. And there’s always art as a way through in the Journey to the Dreamtime Mystery School of Art. May we all find passion fire to bring balance, beauty, courage, and truth to our new directions.
